The Keyboard, the Crowd & the Consequences Chronicles of the Phoenix Issue No. 006

I see it almost every day.

Keyboard warriors. Anonymous accounts. Self-appointed investigators. People posting pictures without context, sharing arrests as though they're convictions, repeating hearsay as fact, and sometimes just making shit up entirely.

And then come the spectators.

Cheering it on. Sharing it. Laughing about it. Adding fuel to a fire when they don't even know the whole story.

Here's something worth remembering.

The same people cheering for someone's public humiliation today may be the very people coming after you tomorrow.

All it takes is one disagreement. One friendship ending. One relationship going south. Or simply becoming someone they no longer have a use for.

Suddenly, you're the next target.

And to those hiding behind anonymous profiles?

Anonymous doesn't necessarily mean unaccountable.

Libel and defamation are real things. Under the right legal circumstances, those anonymous identities can be uncovered. That keyboard isn't necessarily the protection you think it is.

But beyond the legal side, let's talk about character.

Since when did destroying someone's reputation become entertainment?

An arrest isn't a conviction. An accusation isn't proof. And telling half a story while conveniently leaving out the ending doesn't make you a truth-teller.

Sometimes the most damaging lies aren't the words people say.

They're the facts they deliberately leave out.

You don't have to like everyone. Lord knows not everybody likes me, and I'm perfectly fine with that. 😂

Disagree. Walk away. Set boundaries. Wish them well from a distance—or don't.

But ask yourself, is spending your time trying to destroy someone really worth the energy?

Especially when the person you're so consumed with tearing down may not even be paying attention.

They're living. Working. Building. Growing. Moving forward.

And you're still sitting behind a screen making them the center of your world.

Before you hit post, ask yourself:

Is it true?

Do I know the whole story?

What's my actual motivation?

Because the internet has a long memory. Reputations matter. And consequences don't always come immediately.

Be careful of the crowd you're entertaining. One day, you might be their entertainment.

As for me?

I've got a life to live, dreams to build, people to love, and a purpose far bigger than somebody else's drama.

I'd rather use my energy building something meaningful than tearing somebody else down.

Rise above the noise. Let your character speak louder than the crowd.
